
Natasha Lee Martin was born in Providence, RI and began her career at the age of 5 when she was cast in a radio play for WSAR Radio called "The Man in the Snow". Her acting, directing and producing has been seen in television and film on networks such as FOX, TLC, DISNEY, NIPPON TV JAPAN and FRICTIONS.TV
Natasha is a member of SAG-AFTRA holds an MFA in Acting Pedagogy from VCU and trained at the Actor's Studio Program in New York City where she trained extensively in Stanislavski, Strasberg (Moscow Art Theater) Kazan, Hagen and Meisner and at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. At the Actor's Studio Program she trained with world renowned director Arthur Penn (Bonnie and Clyde, The Miracle Worker) executive producer of Law and Order Estelle Parsons (Roseanne), Kestutis Nakas and Digby Wolfe, writer of TV shows such as Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, All the Queen's Men and Fol De Rol.
She has performed and directed at NYC theaters such as JACK, Brooklyn, Theater Lab, The Gene Frankel Theater, Raandesk Gallery, Roy Arias Theater, Theatre 54, Bryant Park and Union Square to thousands. Also in Philadelphia at Society Hill Playhouse, Adrienne Theater, Mummpuppet Theater, NJ PalaceTheater, VA Barksdale Theater, Richard Newdick Theater, Kansas City at Liberty Symphony Orchestra, Albuquerque, NM Hiland Theater and Sol Arts, Sacred Fools Theater, T.U. Studios, Greenlight Productions and collaborated on projects with faculty at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She has served as faculty at both Oxnard College and Chapman University.
Some Professional Workshops taught include Theaterlab, NYC, LaMama, E.T.C. (Umbria, Italy), The Lost Studio Theater, Los Angeles, Northern Illinois University, Rutgers, Claro Talent (Phila), Sycamore Rouge, Virginia Commonwealth University, Theater Virginia and Kansas City University. She has also performed and trained actors as an instructor for real patient case scenarios in medical simulations as a professional standardized patient for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, The University of California Irvine, UCLA, USC, HEA and Consultant in management training, curriculum development and coaching for companies such as Six Flags, The Competitiveness Improvement Company, Bradley Media, Historic Philadelphia, and the School of Audio Engineering in NYC.
Her cultural, pedagogical and artistic strength encourages work by individuals who identify as members of communities under-represented in the entertainment industry. She has directed and designed curriculum focusing on new play development, digital/multimedia theater, social practice, devised theater, musical theater, collaborative creation, Indigenous Performance, Latinx performance, Asian-American performance, African-American performance and/or intercultural performance, Devised Theatre and reimagining Contemporary and Classical plays. Her work has caught the attention of notable creative artists, digging deep into untrodden pathways of new, emerging visual culture and bold, new digital content.
She has presented at Conferences such as MATC, Underground Howl, NYC, Young Women's Caucus, NEA, NCHE and the LGBTQ focus group for ATHE. She has also been awarded Faculty Excellence in Teaching and several grants to fund her dramatic writing and performance such as the the prestigious Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation (Center for the Performing Arts) Innovation Grant.
She also received training in Improvisation from Gary Austin, David Razowsky, Scotty Watson, Jeff Michalski and Johnny Zito. She performed in her duo "Martin & Shaw" with Cooper Shaw at the Gotham Comedy Club, Theatre 54, The Living Theater and The Producer's Club. She resides in Los Angeles where she is actively teaching on faculty at several colleges in the Los Angeles area and is represented by agencies.
She is the creator and CEO of Natasha Lee Martin Entertainment Haus whose mission is to promote and collaborate with artists who push the boundaries of what is possible, captivate audiences using emerging techniques and explore unique themes and new cultural narratives within a given genre. She is also co-owner of frictions.tv writer, director and producer of new and emerging content for commercials, film and tv.
Her passion as an avid sailor earned her a 100 Ton Boat Captain License and you may see her out in the bay often playing on boats. She enjoys sharing her love of the water by teaching sailing and carving a pathway for people to develop the skills to work in the marine industry.
She is an ocean advocate and passionate about marine conservation.
